lir, Slattery (11,G,0,F.) raised an objection, and considered that this proposed joint Naval and Military Club woul be a purely private concern, and that the War Department should be concerned as regards negotiating with the Colony for land that such club yould require, and proposed that such club should negotiate direct with the Colony on the matter.

No conclusions were arrived at, and the question as to future procedure should then be taken up by the Army Council wit. the Admiralty.

It was decided that Colonel McHardy should in the meantine obtain the views of the Central Fund Committee.

Memorandum G.

Mr. Colson asked whether it was likely that, as & result of the transfer, the War Office would have any isolated bungalows or other accommodation which could be made available for Admiralty use.

It was pointed out that the War Office were proposing to transfer their property to the Colonial Goverment in blocks, and that it would not be possible for then to transfer isolated protions of those blocks to the Admiralty.

It was therefore agreed that the question concerning any accomodation that the Admiralty night require for housing should be taken up as a separate matter direct with the Colonial Office, and that any such accommodation which it was now proposed to surrender in the neighbourhood of the Dockyard to the Colonial Government should be proceeded with, the Admiralty approaching the Colonial Go verra.... if they wish to do 60, afterwards.

Admiral Sir L.E. Power accepted this suggestion,

and all other Members agreed.

3. To consider the proposal for establishment of a Joint Naval and Lilitary Canteen (see Henor andun ).
